September is being celebrated as the Passport Awareness Month all around the world. Though the awareness about passport is being delivered all the months but September is being declared as the month where passport officials completely dedicate themselves in spreading awareness about the importance of Passport, how to apply, important things to take care of while applying etc. In this awareness month, lots of passport awareness campaigns are being organised by the passport officials. Passport official collaborates with different institutions to spread the awareness among the students and with their voluntary help they do the same at other places.
A similar awareness workshop was conducted by Dr Devicharan Shetty at I.T.S Dental College, Muradnagar. The workshop is co-inaugurated by Mr Subroto Hazara the regional passport officer of district Ghaziabad. In this awareness campaign, he highlighted the importance of having a valid passport. A valid passport is very important as it also acts as a personal identity and residence proof of a person. A passport can be expressed as an entity of a person’s public recognition. The workshop audience included the students and all the faculty members of the college. With his speech he convinced and make people confident that the procedure of applying for the passport is very simple. There is an illusion created among the people that passport procedure is difficult and is a headache. But as the technology is covering every sector the passport procedure have now become easy for people.
Dr DC Shetty addressed the passport procedure in detail. In his speech, he conveyed the importance of knowing the correct procedure of applying for a valid passport. He also shared the list of all the important documents required for the passport application as the proof of identity and residence. He emphasised on the use of online portal in the digital era. He also shared details of the passport help centres that drew the attention of each people if he/she face any problem in the passport procedure. He shared almost all possible difficulties a person could face in the application process. He shared the list of regional passport offices where they can apply for the passport. The passport officials and the Dr Shetty concluded the workshop with a wish that more workshops on passport awareness should be conducted in future for the ease of people applying for the passport in future.
